Character Creation

The initial distribution of attributes, abilities, Callings, specializations, combat points, and bonus points in RedSun.

1. Attributes

Distributing Attributes

Distribute the values 7, 5, and 3 among the three attribute groups: 7 points in the primary group, 5 in the secondary group, and 3 in the tertiary group.

Additional points

  • Bonus points: each additional point costs 4 bonus points, regardless of level.
  • Experience: each additional point costs the current level × 5 XP.

2. Abilities

Talents, Skills, and Knowledges

Distribute the values 13, 9, and 5 among the three categories: 13 points in the primary category, 9 in the secondary category, and 5 in the tertiary category.

Additional points

  • Bonus points: each additional point costs 2 bonus points, regardless of level.
  • Experience: each additional point costs the current level × 2 XP. The first point costs 3 XP.

3. Magic

Ancestral Callings

The character begins with 4 points to distribute among Ancestral Callings. Every player character starts with 2 points in Resilience.

Choose three options from a custom Calling, Speed, Fortitude, and Potence. Fortitude grants one automatic success when soaking damage.

On the initial character sheet, the maximum level of a Calling is 3, whether purchased with XP or bonus points.

  • Bonus points: each additional point costs 7 bonus points, regardless of level.
  • Experience: each additional point costs the current level × 7 XP. The first level costs 10 XP.

4. Specializations

The character receives 3 Specialization points.

Additional points

  • Bonus points: each additional point costs 3 bonus points, regardless of level.
  • Experience: each additional point costs the current level × 3 XP. The first point costs 4 XP.

5. Combat

The character receives 4 Combat points.

Additional points

  • Bonus points: each additional point costs 3 bonus points, regardless of level.
  • Experience: each additional point costs the current level × 3 XP. The first point costs 4 XP.

The character begins with 15 bonus points. Bonus points must always be spent before XP.
